Oceanic’s Inaugural Pier Party Promises to Be a Must-Attend Family Event
Family-friendly fun at Oceanic Restaurant and the Crystal Pier
Wrightsville Beach, NC – September 26, 2019 — Oceanic’s Inaugural Neighborhood Pier Party will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 29, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. The afternoon community celebration will feature something for all ages – from live music by the popular beach music group, The Embers, to sandcastle building competitions, professional sand sculpting demonstrations, corn hole competition, beach games, and raffle prizes. Activities will be held within the restaurant, on Crystal Pier, and surrounding beach areas, with free parking available in the lot located directly in front of the Oceanic Restaurant. Additional parking is available at Bluewater Waterfront Grill for those able to car pool. Participants will be treated to professional Sandcastle building demonstrations for families by the Wilmington-based company, SandiCastles, as well as shag dance lessons led by the Cape Fear Shag Club.
The event kicks off at 11am with Yoga for a Cause on the Crystal Pier, led by BeUnlimited Yoga, with a $5 suggested donation.
Shag lessons led by the Cape Fear Shag Club will be held on the pier and beach from 12:00pm – 12:30pm, before the live music begins at 12:30pm.
Then not to miss is the headlining band, The Embers, playing from 12:30pm – 4:00pm on the Crystal Pier.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase throughout the day, benefiting local non-profit, Weekend Meals on Wheels.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the sounds of beach music and sights of beach fun. Coastal fare, as well as beer, wine, and craft cocktails will be available for purchase within the Oceanic Restaurant, and pier patio. Beachside sandwiches will be available at a to-go station for those looking to remain on the beach and participate in beach activities.
While the community event is free and open to the public, Oceanic will be accepting donations for Weekend Meals on Wheels, a local Wilmington-based non-profit. In support of the non-profit’s efforts, Oceanic Restaurant will be donating 15% of event day sales to Weekend Meals on Wheels. Proceeds will support the non-profit in the provision of nutritious meals and social contact to senior and disabled persons on weekends and other days not covered by the weekday Home Delivered Meals program in New Hanover County, North Carolina. “This event was brought to life as a way to bring our community together, for an end-of-season celebration, and provide support for a great local non-profit,” said Marianne Stokes, Signature Brands Marketing Manager for LM Restaurants. “We intend to make this an annual event, showing our support to a non-profit that directly impacts the lives of those in our community.” “Sunday looks to be a beautiful day, and we hope our friends, families and neighbors will join us for this fantastic afternoon of activities to raise funds for Weekend Meals on Wheels,” said Nathen Martin, General Manager of The Oceanic Restaurant.
For those looking to sign up to participate in the sandcastle building contest or the corn hole competition, registration will begin on the beach at 11am. Participants can also sign up via the event website, https://Oceanicrestaurant.com/PierParty2019. Participants in the friendly sandcastle competition, which is open to all ages and skill levels, should prepare to bring their own supplies for the event. There is no limit to number of participants on each team.
